The Power of the Pause: STOP!
Mindfulness, Relaxation, going into the woods, responding instead of reacting, breathing, all require that we stop for a moment. Sometimes I find this difficult especially at night when my mind is active and there is still so much to do. But just as STOP has become an international imperative for our own safety, I have come to recognize that Stopping to Pause, to be in nature, to breath, to be mindful are also necessities not luxuries...it's still so hard to do though. I have found Belleruth Naparstek's "Guided Imagery for General Wellness" to be very helpful here.
