About Me

Picture
I am a psychologist and psychotherapist licensed with l’Ordre des Psychologues du Québec (OPQ) since 2001.

I am curious about the human condition and about people’s lives and experiences. I am especially curious as well as hopeful about what psychology can offer us individually and collectively as a world. I believe that finding well-being is a personal as well as a collective goal. Our individual journeys towards wellness can contribute to the well-being of our communities and healthy communities, a healthy world, are vital for complete individual wellness.  I am an avid consumer of research and ideas, and I am immensely excited about sharing and discussing these ideas. I am fascinated about how each of our journeys is truly unique yet somehow we are all interconnected. With over 20 years experience in delivering psychotherapy I enjoy collaborating with my clients to design individualized interventions that are effective to create changes that are sustainable.
I have training and experience in psychotherapy, teaching and research. I have a bachelor's in psychology from McGill University. I did my graduate work in Clinical Psychology at Concordia University, obtaining my master's in clinical psychology in 1996 and my doctorate in clinical psychology in 2001. My Ph.D. research on personality development reflects my conviction that personal change is possible throughout the lifespan. My clinical training at the Applied Psychology Centre at Concordia University, at the Douglas Hospital, and at the Department of Psychology in the Allan Memorial Institute at the Royal Victoria Hospital was diverse and extensive and exposed me to many different therapeutic approaches and routes to change.  I have taught college and university courses on lifespan development, abnormal psychology, social psychology, health psychology, have led groups for depression, panic and agoraphobia and social anxiety, and I worked with the McGill University Mental Health Service for 7 years. I currently deliver seminars, workshops, support groups and courses to community groups. I have been in private practice in psychotherapy on the west island since 2006.
